Type: medium roast dan cong oolong

Origin: Chaozhou, Guangdong

The name Ao Fu Hou in the dialect refers to the spot where this wonderfully aromatic tea grows. The mother tree of the well-known Yellow Gardenia, Huang Zhi Xiang (黄枝香) was discovered growing behind a ditch on a rocky hill in the village.

It’s a rare dan cong with a sweet, musky floral fragrance, pleasing tannins with a luscious creamy finish. Treat yourself to this indulgence.

2 oz loose leaf

Brewing Tips:

5g/100 ml using 98 Celsius water (near boiling). Start with 5-10 second infusions

Life-long fan of dan cong tea...

I've been drinking different dan cong for 10+ years, and this dan cong along with the heavy roasted honey orchid from Teaphile have become two favorites of mine. I will keep returning for them. Thank you, Annie!

High Quality Dan Cong

Once the leaves are warmed, they have a very pleasing caramelized sugar aroma. The wet leaves smell like a custard filled glazed doughnut. The custard and caramelized sugar notes do come out in the tea liquor. The tea is high in mineral notes and leaves a tantalizingly juicy aftertaste and feeling in the back of throat that lasts long after the liquid is drunk. This is a strong tea that lasts many steeps.
