Type: dan cong oolong

Origin: Chaozhou, Guangdong

Are you ready for this dan cong propagated from the OG Phoenix trees from 1300 years ago? Everytime I treat myself to this oolong, I am floored by the layers of flavor and aroma. Goji, tropical fruit, and a minty aftertaste. Medium roasted to a perfect balance, this is an elegant and exquisite tea, this dan cong is intense without being overpowering. Reserved to make the highest quality of Phoniex teas, these leaves brew a vibrant and mellow tea liquor.

2 oz loose leaf

Brewing Tips:

5g/100 ml using 98 Celsius water (near boiling). Start with 5-10 second infusions.

Terrible service

My order was shipped with the wrong item. I tried to contact the seller via email and web link but the seller never responded or even contacted me. I don't know what to do.

Dear Xiaoyu,

Appreciate your feedback. We have sent an email regarding your refund when your order was placed and followed up with multiple emails regarding the shipping. Unfortunately none seem to have gone through since we never got a response from you, and we never received any emails from you. It's been 2 months since your last order, if there's a specific request please reach out via email with photos of your last order when you unboxed it. Thank you.

Finally a good Song Zhong!

I first tried this cultivar at a friend's when visiting China. It took a long time for me to find one that wasn't too expensive (though of course, due to its rarity, I understand the pricing). I was introduced to this shop and after trying a few of Teaphile's Phoenix teas I tried this. It's incredibly fragrant, very strong body, and just so delightful when brewing this gongfu style.

Pleasent tea

Notes:
- tasty tea / good to serve to guests / approachable / forward sweetness.
- very easy to brew / low astringency for feng huang teas.
- does not have the woody / depth underly flavor old tree song zhongs often have in my experience.
- taste reminds me of a different dancong cultivar, had to check the label twice.
- expensive/pricey for the character of the tea / not a educational reference for song zhong in my humble opinion.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Very curious how and in what sort of tea vessel you steeped it in. We love trying out different methods depending on what we want to bring out of this tea that day :)
