Type: green tea
Origin: Chaozhou, Guangdong
You heard of hojicha, the roasted Japanese tea that stands out from other greens. You heard of dan cong, the category of oolong hailing from the home of gongfu cha. If you weren’t already impressed with our Phoenix Red, I had the pleasure of tasting this rare and small-batch roasted dan cong green tea from the same family farm and this is one to try for all dan long lovers.
Made with the Mi Lan Xiang (Honey Orchid) cultivar. The appearance of the finished leaves resembles a well-known green tea, Bi Luo Chun 碧螺春. The light roast cuts down the astringent sharpness, resulting in a pleasantly light and rounded liquor with a high floral finish.
2 oz loose leaf
